The Ensure Justice Conference is a two-day event focused on equipping teachers, parents, victim service providers, law enforcement, students, and community members to protect and intervene for women and children at high-risk of exploitation and violence. Understanding the contributing factors of human trafficking that run deep will inform innovative strategies for future prevention.

This presentation walks you through the story of Amy and other children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation in the United States. Would you be able to recognize a child or teenager who is being trafficked in your health care clinic, classroom or neighborhood? This presentation is based on real children seen in a pediatric Emergency Department and will equip you to feel more confident in identifying human trafficking regardless of your profession. The stories of these survivors show vulnerabilities and red flags that have helped health care workers identify patients who are being abused and exploited using a validated screening tool. This presentation will also dispel myths related to sexual assault and child commercial sexual exploitation.
